Sport seat
Sparco is a well-known company for seats and accessories for the racing industry. Established at the end of the seventies by two young drivers from Turin to make the automobile competition world safer, quality and safety are still their stronghold to improve performance.
The requirement was to create a new transversal seat that could replace the already existing ‘Modena’ one and that, with some aesthetic and material modifications, could be installed on various cars and brands.

The requirement was to create a new transversal seat that could replace the already existing ‘Modena’ one and that, with some aesthetic and material modifications, could be installed on various cars and brands.
An aesthetic feeling of lightness was to be combined with its full optional characteristics. In fact, the weight of this product is also determined by the electric handling, from rapid overturning, from micro-meter regulation of the back and the airbags inside. The project also foresaw an actual weight reduction from the standard 15 kg to a 12 kg maximum.
We found a solution with a plastic back shell and a visually very light seat. An effect obtained by using few cuts and stitching. We also foresaw a central opening that gives a feeling of breathability while breaking up the sensation of volume. The seat mass is hence perceived in a reduced way. The chosen lines are simple and modern, to ensure both duration of the design over time and offer the adaptability requested from the company to more cars.
